What’s good, Digital Art Family!
Thank you, for checking out edition #11 of the
"SLEEPYZ DIGITAL ART MAGAZINE"
Today's Guest: "OZBREN"
Keep reading for an incredible interview with the Artist..🗞️
When did the passion and appreciation for art first begin ?
OZBREN: "Since my early teens I’ve always been creating random stuff on my computer, I remember using Photoshop at school to turn photos of my mates into horrific creatures with a bunch of eyes and multiple arms. It’s hard to pinpoint an exact moment where my passion for art began. Being an artist always felt so out of reach, so I was dead set on using my skills to be a graphic designer."
Why did you end up choosing this space to publish your art ?
OZBREN: "I posted my art very regularly on Instagram for a long time before I even considered minting my work. Then I had a moment where I drastically changed the style of work I was putting out (shifting focus from graphic design to art). At that point I decided I wanted my art to be more than just a post on IG, so naturally I turned to crypto art."
How did you end up finding your own style of art ?
OZBREN: "My style came about when I eventually felt comfortable with the tools at my disposal (Blender + Photoshop). Style always emerges naturally through countless hours of experimentation. I also love to switch up my style constantly, even now. It keeps things fresh!"
If you could work together with one artist from the past, who would it be and why ?
OZBREN: "Probably Magritte or Dali, I’d love to brainstorm with the OG surrealists. But most of my idols are contemporaries, which is cool because I get to talk to them while they are living."
The weekly poem from - Luca Ponsato
"Morning Thoughts"
A Poem inspired by the piece
"Cold December Mornings"
Taking my time
Alone with the thought
Entrenched in those things
I’ve learned and I’ve taught
Do I think I’m alone
When I’m always with me?
Or do I just think
That’s the best place to be?
Who are your role-models ?
OZBREN: "In terms of how I carry myself in this space, Pho and Karisma have really helped me along my journey. They noticed me early on and I really look up to them."
Where do you gain most of your inspiration from ?
OZBREN: "Just like everyone else, I am inspired by all the media I consume. Films like Fear and Loathing, Synecdoche New York, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Music."
When did you decide to pursue a career as a full time artist?
OZBREN: "I decided to go full time once I got to a position where I seriously believed I could make this work. It all happened very quickly. In under a year I went from my first mint to full-time artist and I am extremely grateful for that."
What are some passions that you have other than creating art ?
OZBREN: "I am very passionate about crypto in general. I remember mining BTC for fun on my shitty computer when I was 16. My friends are all nerds too so we learned about this stuff pretty early on. I’ve also been building PCs since I was young so I would consider that a passion too. I also enjoy DJing, I’d say that’s just a hobby for me though!"
What’s the biggest advice you have for up and coming artists, who are looking for long term success ?
OZBREN: "I am still young and at the very beginning of my own career, so I tend to leave the advice to those with more wisdom than me. Just stay real, be kind, and always remember there’s a human behind the avatar."
What’s next on OZBREN's artistic journey ?
OZBREN: "I’ve recently been exploring new workflows and styles, so I look forward to sharing what I’ve been working on in that regard. In terms of actual projects, I’m part of a cool upcoming drop with Femzor + other amazing artists. Also my genesis drop with Babylon is coming at the end of Feb. Other than that, I’m just out here creating."
